Introduction to Sailing
Our Introduction to Sailing course is for those wishing to learn the basics of sailing dinghies, catamaran or any small sailing vessel. The course is designed to teach students how to sail starting with the “essential skills”
More advanced skills and techniques are introduced as the student progresses. By the end of the third session you will be ready to start racing at your local club.

Introduction to Sailing
Function
Learn the "Essential Skills" to be a competent crew member in our introduction to sailing course. By the end of the third session you will be ready to start racing at your local club. As part of our training programme we will participate in a midweek twilight sailing event on Sydney Harbour.
Content
The essential skills that you will learn in the 3 session introduction to sailing program include the following
- Personal safety
- Ropework
- Adjusting the sails
- Wind and boat direction
- Compass and chartwork
- Steering the yacht
- Tacking
- Gybing
- Running
- Sail selection
Course Cost
The course consists of 2 x 4 hour afternoons of sailing, plus our twilight race.
2 x 4 Hour lessons; plus 1 twilight race
