Boat Licence Courses
One Day Theory and Practical Boat Licence Course
One of our most popular courses, this course will give you your boat licence in one day. The course includes our safe boating course which consist of a powerpoint presentation followed by the practical training at the helm of our 8.2m Kevlacat. Assessment comes next and this is in the form of a 40 multiple choice questions and answers written exam. Upon successful completion of the exam you will be issued with a statement of attainment, all you then need to do is present the statement to NSW maritime for the issue of your Boat Licence. The 1 day course is a great fun day out on the Harbour, students can't wait to get behind the wheel of our training vessel and wrestle with the power of the twin 225hp Johnsons.
Course Cost and Regulations
$225 per student- You Must be at least 12 years old to participate in this course.
"Bring a hat, sunscreen and a bottle of water for the practical component on the harbour. Morning tea will be provided and lunch can be purchased from the Bistro.”
Additional Course Information
When operating a powered vessel capable of travelling at speeds of 10 knots you are required to hold a general boat licence and since June 2009 you must have practical training prior to undertaking the NSW Boat Licence test.

The NSW Maritime Boat Licence is a competency based programme delivered from the following units of competency:
With Maritime Training School, you'll have a fantastic day out on the water. The theory component of your course will take place aboard our 60ft cruiser MV Silver Spirit or in our waterfront classroom at The Spit - Mosman.
For the practical components you'll board our 8.2m Kevlakat power catamaran and put your classroom training into practice, whilst getting a great view of the harbour. Then for the General Boat Licence test we'll return to the classroom where you'll sit the NSW Maritime exam.
